CNC Machining Guide

Key process points when machining the Grade 12 grade to ensure part quality and machining efficiency.

1Tool Selection

Use sharp, coated carbide tools (AlTiN/TiCN). Keep tools sharp — a dull edge increases cutting forces and degrades surface finish.

2Cutting Parameters

Apply moderate cutting speeds with a stable, consistent feed. Avoid dwell and rubbing, which cause work hardening and poor surface quality.

3Coolant & Lubrication

Use high-volume flood coolant to evacuate heat and chips. For some grades, minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) can give a cleaner cut.

4Workholding

Use soft jaws or custom fixtures to avoid marking the part. Distribute clamping forces evenly to prevent distortion of thin walls.

5Quality Control

Verify dimensions and geometric tolerances with CMM or other precision metrology. Our ISO 9001 quality system covers the whole process.

Titanium - Other Grades

Besides Grade 12, Titanium offers several other grades with different characteristics. Click to view details.
