Solid-lubricated wear grade with a low friction coefficient for oil-free moving parts.

Wear-Resistant PEI is a Wear-Resistant Grade grade within PEI (Ultem), widely used in industrial CNC machining due to its balanced mechanical, thermal, and machinability performance.
Wear-resistant grade with added solid lubricants, low friction coefficient, suitable for oil-free moving parts.
Wear-Resistant PEI grades are commonly used in the following fields and scenarios; our CNC machining services can provide custom parts for these industries.
Wear-Resistant PEI demonstrates the following core advantages in CNC machining and end-use applications.
The following are key process points when machining PEI (Ultem) material, to ensure part quality and machining efficiency.
PEI is highly hygroscopic; dry at 150°C for at least 4 hours before machining to prevent hydrolysis-induced bubbles and surface defects.
Use sharp carbide tools; PEI is heat-sensitive, so avoid excessive cutting zone temperatures that cause surface discoloration.
Perform post-machining stress-relief annealing to eliminate residual stresses and prevent cracking during assembly or service.
Polishing or vibratory tumbling yields a uniform smooth surface; avoid contact with ketone and halogenated hydrocarbon solvents.
Besides Wear Grade PEI, PEI (Ultem) offers several other grades with different characteristics. Click to view details.
