ABS plastic is a versatile, impact-resistant thermoplastic ideal for CNC machining prototypes and end-use parts.

ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) is one of the most popular thermoplastics for CNC machining, offering an excellent balance of impact resistance, toughness, and machinability. It is widely used for prototyping, housings, enclosures, and consumer product components.
ABS machines cleanly with sharp carbide tooling, producing smooth surfaces and tight tolerances. It can be painted, glued, and solvent-welded, making it ideal for functional prototypes and low-volume production parts. ABS is also available in various colors and UL-rated flame-retardant grades.
While not suitable for high-temperature applications (glass transition around 105°C), ABS performs well at room temperature and offers good dimensional stability. It is an economical choice for prototyping and bridge production.
Besides ABS Plastic, ABS Plastic offers several other grades with different characteristics. Click to view details.
